What is the Disability Pride Flag and What Do The Colours Mean?
This version of the Disability Pride Flag was created in 2021 and was designed as a less visually triggering version of Ann Magill's original lightning flag design. It features each of the six 'standard' flag colours to signify that the Disability Community is international and diagonal stripes to symbolise 'cutting across' barriers and light cutting through darkness. Each of the coloured stripes also represents a different form of disability as follows:
Green Stripe: Sensory Disabilities
Blue Stripe: Psychiatric Disabilities
White Stripe: Invisible & Undiagnosed Disabilities
Gold Stripe: Neurodivergence
Red Stripe: Physical Disabilities
