What Issues Are Trans and Autistic Communities Facing in 2025?

We’re grateful and beyond proud to have recently been a part of “Bold Conversations,” a podcast and video series created in response to the current challenges faced by trans and/or autistic individuals.

In an interview hosted by speaker, coach and podcaster Gem Kennedy , Adam Holcroft-Tebbutt (Rainbow & Co founder) discusses the challenges and experiences of being a visible transgender and autistic person in the UK, particularly how the current hostile climate, including recent Supreme Court rulings , has made him feel more vulnerable.

He also touches on his firm belief that activism and visibility don't need to be palatable or family-friendly. After all, queer existence is inherently political, and phrases like "trans rights are human rights" should be baseline truths — not radical statements.

Alongside their chat with Adam, Gem also spoke to two other trans+ and/or autistic changemakers, H Arlo Harris and Arlo West .

H Arlo Harris

H Arlo Harris (they/them), a coach who uses their experiences as an autistic, trans masc non-binary , and black person to help people recognise the power of owning their identity, talks to Gem about living your truth and staying authentic (a word they both feel is very over-used) even when life is tough.

You can watch the whole conversation below.

Arlo West

Gem and Arlo West (they/them), a freelance graphic designer and founder of Studio Arlo, chat about the importance of community and solidarity, especially how inclusivity should be the default in all spaces because it benefits everyone. They also cover just how annoying the gatekeep-y world of business is, especially for other self-employed creatives!
